Based in Brooklyn, The Jealous Girlfriends evolved from the collaboration between singer/songwriter Holly Miranda and producer/keyboardist Alex Lipsen.  Following the completion of their debut Comfortably Uncomfortable, the two were joined by singer/guitarist Josh Abbott and drummer Mike Fadem.  The new line-up began work on the next record at Headgear Recording Studio with producer/engineer Dan Long.  The self-titled follow up took a completely different path, and helped develop a strong following both locally and nationally.  Tours with acts such as Nada Surf, Kevin Devine and the Wedding Present allowed the band to explore and refine a sound that would leave a signature on the music ahead.
