What was your first concert?
Uh. My first concert. I think it was the Allman Brothers. My parents were seated and I was up on the lawn. This dude gave me his rum and coke and my friend was like, “Don’t drink it man. You don’t know what’s in there!” I drank it and got drunk so that was my first concert and the first time I drank. It was at The Meadows in Hartford, CT when I was, like, 12.
What was your first album?
My first memory of buying a tape is embarrassing. It was Boyz || Men, “Cool High Harmony”. I was young, between, like, 8 and 10 years old.
What was the first album you bought for yourself?
The first record that I bought that I really loved was Red Hot Chili Peppers “Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic”. I had to sweet talk the dude at the store because parental discretion was advised.
What’s the first song on a bbq summer party jam mix?
Some Wu Tang shit.
What’s your first song on a Sunday morning?
Um, to wake up and chill? Usually, when I’m home… I don’t know it depends. I like reggae a lot. So, any dub reggae is a go to when I just need background music. Because I don’t have to care about who the artist is or if what I’m listening to is hip. So, that’s my go to music. That’s my comfort music.
What’s the first song that comes up when you put your mp3 player on shuffle?
How do I do that? Is there a shuffle? I don’t know if I can do it. Er. Wait. We can see how technical I am. I have no idea.
What’s the first song you ever jammed out to?
I remember the first song I jammed out on with kids, like, when I wanted to start a band. I was, well, I’ve always been a drummer. It was “Sunshine of Your Love” by Cream. That was all this kid could play. So, we played that song over and over again. Oh, and also “My Sharona”. He knew that one too. We practiced in my bedroom in middle school. It sucked. I started another band and we had a conga player. We played Neil Young’s “Heart of Gold”.
